Description
This NMEA USB adapter cable works on PC, Mac and Linux computers and converts NMEA 0183 data, used by many navigation systems, to USB.
The adapter is a bi-directional device and supports both NMEA0183 speeds (4800 38400 baud) which are the speeds used by navigation centres and AIS systems. The LED shows received and transmitted data, making it easy to use.
The device creates a virtual COM port on the PC where navigation and mapping software can read NMEA data. Multiple adapters can be connected if required allowing the creation of any NMEA port on your PC.
The unit comes with a CD to provide drivers for PC, Mac and even Linux systems. If you have an AIS system, you can use the AIS SmarterTrack Lite software to view AIS targets. This software is included on the CD.
