Description
The iKonvert NMEA 2000 to NMEA 0183 converter is an intelligent and flexible converter that enables equipment with an NMEA2000 interface to communicate with equipment with an NMEA0183 interface and vice versa. Conversions are bi-directional, so whether you want to get data from your NMEA0183 equipment onto your NMEA2000 network or to send GPS data from your NMEA2000 chartplotter to your NMEA0183 VHF radio and autopilot, then iKonvert will accurately and intelligently perform the necessary data conversions.
We have designed iKonvert to suit all systems and installations by incorporating a simple but effective method of mode selection, via a set of DIP switches in the iKonvert case. Simply remove the two screws, open the iKonvert case and select the mode you require. The next time iKonvert powers up, it will automatically perform the conversions you have selected.
A number of conversion modes have already been defined, including: Heading, Sounder, AIS, GPS, Wind, Instruments and a mode with all data conversion that automatically defines which conversions to perform and the baud rate iKonvert will use. What's more, if you need a conversion mode that we haven't defined yet, just let us know and we can include it for you.
The iKonvert converter is built into a compact, easy-to-mount case, with an integrated NMEA0183 cable and a standard NMEA2000 (male) cable. The iKonvert is self-powered from the NMEA2000 network and provides complete galvanic isolation between the NMEA0183 and NMEA2000 networks, making the iKonvert the perfect solution for all navigation systems with an NMEA 0183 or NMEA 2000 interface.
For those who wish to use the NMEA2000 data for navigation software on a computer, then you should choose the USB version of the iKonvert which is compatible with all operating systems (Windows/Mac/LINUX/Android).
