With full keyboard controls built into the NSS evo3 display, you can lock the touch screen and simply use the interface's traditional buttons and rotary dial without having to switch to another keyboard.
Built-in fishfinder module
With a built-in fishfinder module, every NSS evo3 display benefits from a full suite of Simrad fishfinder technologies to support a wide range of sport fishing and cruising applications. ACTIVE IMAGING ® HD imaging combines DownScan and SideScan probes to generate a photo-quality view of schools of fish. This is complemented by ForwardScan® fishfinder, an award-winning technology that enhances safety in cruising applications by providing a clear view of the bottom stretching out in front of your boat. Broadband Sounder™ technology offers a CHIRP fishing sounder and supports the TotalScan™ all-in-one sounder or dual channel CHIRP sounder. The dual channel sounder provides coverage of multiple depth ranges and multiple cone angles in a single device: ideal for targeting certain features in the water column in sport fishing applications. Dual probe ports allow simultaneous use of an ACTIVE IMAGING ® or ForwardScan® HD imaging system and a CHIRP or conventional probe.
Compatibility with Simrad add-on modules
The NSS evo3 displays are compatible with Simrad add-on modules, including the revolutionary ACTIVE IMAGING ® 3D imaging system, the S5100 wideband sounder with CHIRP probe and many other plug-and-play network modules. Not only can module functionality be shared between multiple NSS evo3 displays, modules can be added at any time. This means your Simrad display system can easily evolve and adapt to your navigation interests and technology needs.
Radar system control
Increase your visual range with Halo™ Pulse Compression Radar, Broadband Radar™ or other HD digital radar solutions. NSS evo3 displays integrate with these network-enabled Simrad radar solutions to provide a feature-rich radar interface with intuitive preset modes, custom manual settings, MARPA target tracking, guard zones, overlay views and many other variable features depending on your chosen radar system.
Simrad autopilot integration
Take full control of your Simrad autopilot with the NSS evo3 touchscreen or its keypad. With simple on-screen commands, you can set a heading, follow your current route against the wind, navigate to a waypoint or follow a complex route. NSS evo3 displays can be used as the sole controller for a 'black box' autopilot system, but can also be combined with dedicated autopilot controllers and wireless remotes. Networked Simrad autopilot systems can be connected from any on-board NSS evo3 display, making them particularly suitable for dual helm vessels.
NMEA 2000® connectivity
Industry-standard NMEA 2000® connectivity enables a wide range of Simrad and third-party electronic systems to be integrated into the vessel: engine and fuel monitoring functions, digital instrumentation, AIS integration, audio system control and more.
Integrated 10 Hz GPS receiver
All NSS evo3 displays are equipped with an integrated high-speed, high-gain GPS/GLONASS receiver, capable of updating your position ten times per second. An ideal configuration for accurately tracking the movement of fast motorboats. In external mount installations and in the flush mounts used on many fibreglass boats, this system eliminates the need to purchase and install a separate GPS receiver. It is also possible to use an optional external GPS receiver as an auxiliary positioning source, or in some installations that do not allow the GPS signal to be routed to the built-in receiver.
Customisable function key
The NSS evo3 display incorporates a user-customisable function key that gives you instant access to the features you want. One button access to the function you use most: navigation, autopilot or radar. You can also assign a function to the button that you want to keep close at hand: create a MOB key for emergencies, a dedicated sonar log recorder key for Insight Genesis, or a key to lock the touch screen when using the keyboard or an external controller. You have the option to set two functions: one accessed with a short press of the button, the other with a long press.
TripIntel™ technology
Designed with powerboating enthusiasts in mind, TripIntel™ technology tracks and displays the key information you need to plan safe and enjoyable days out on the water. Make the right decisions with map displays of distances that can be travelled with fuel remaining, easy access to current and tidal forecasts and a detailed history of your previous outings. The cruising performance indicator makes it easy to adjust trim and engine speed to maximise fuel economy and stay in the 'green zone'. The result: greater range and lower fuel costs.
Simplified navigation with automatic routing
Automatic routing gives you the convenience of an on-board navigation system. So plot your route and get underway faster. Start by selecting a destination. Your NSS evo3 screen will suggest the shortest and safest route based on your boat's draught and dimensions. This function is available with Navionics+ or Navionics Platinum charts (Navionics Autorouting), and with Jeppesen CMAP MAX-N+ charts (Easy Routing).
