Description
Simrad's ForwardScan Technology
ForwardScan provides forward-looking, two-dimensional sonar imaging from the bottom to the bow of your boat. In shallow, unfamiliar, or poorly charted waters, ForwardScan is a powerful way to avoid going round in circles, and an invaluable tool for locating safe sites to drop anchor.
ForwardScan operates at 180 kHz to reduce interference from traditional 200 kHz sounders, and offers:

Maximum forward view of 8X your current depth. e.g. at 3m depth, up to 24m can be seen ahead. Nominal forward view of 4-5X your current depth e.g. at 3m depth you can see up to 12-15m ahead.

Simrad NSS evo2/NSO evo2 MFD integration
ForwardScan connects quickly and easily to any Simrad NSS evo2 multifunction display via the StructureScan port, with no additional hardware required. On NSO evo2 modular systems, or NSS evo2 systems that already use StructureScan, ForwardScan can be connected via an optional Simrad SonarHub sounder module.

Bottom colour tracking
Bottom colour tracking provides a solid 2D view of the bottom ahead of your boat for a clean, immediately identifiable view. Make fast, well-informed navigation decisions, without the need to interpret individual data points returned by the sounder.

Course line view
Course line view integrates ForwardScan depth data with the course line displayed on your Simrad MFD navigation page. The line is colour coded in segments to represent deep, medium, and shallow water, with customisable depth ranges depending on your boat's draft.
ForwardScan's forward distance range scale is automatically synchronised with the length of the heading line: in ForwardScan/navigation view split screen, all the distance from your boat to the end of the heading line is represented in 2D on the ForwardScan screen. Quickly reconcile ForwardScan data with chart depth and current heading, for a comprehensive understanding of what's ahead.

Easy installation
ForwardScan can be installed on almost any vessel, with a 50.8mm stainless steel through-hull mount. The mount is suitable for 25.4mm thick hulls at a 12° survey angle, or 19mm at 20°.
This prospective sonar provides a clear two-dimensional picture of the bottom at the front of your boat, allowing you to navigate in shallow or poorly mapped water with confidence. Delivered with a stainless steel shell 50.8 mm.
